Be a sine wave

I realized as a manager was that not everyone works equally hard.

The surprise: My strongest performers were usually not the hardest workers. Years ago someone told me “the best workers are all a little bit lazy.” It’s true. They rest after a push, understand that they can’t sprint all the time, and find (acceptable) shortcuts whenever possible.

Be a sine wave, not a nonstop flurry of effort.
